CATEGORIES

To participate in the Granfondo World Series, the athlete is required to have a valid license issued by their respective national federation, affiliated with the International Cycling Union.

 

They must hold a UCI identity document (from 2024 onwards) and must be adequately insured against personal accidents and civil liability in the country where the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship is held. ​

 

As set out in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series regulations, the following participation categories will be established: Categories/Age Group participating in the Granfondo and Mediofondo WITH the possibility of qualifying in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series (World Championship 2025):

Categories that QUALIFY for the world championship

 

*GRAN FONDO 120KM*

19 – 34 years old, male and female

35 – 39 years old, male and female

40 – 44 years old, male and female

45 – 49 years old, male and female

50 – 54 years old, male

55 – 59 years old, male

*MEDIO FONDO 80KM*

50 – 54 years old, female

55 – 59 years old, female

60 – 64 years old, male and female

65 – 69 years old, male and female

70 – 74 years old, male and female

75 – 79 years old, male and female

Categories that DO NOT QUALIFY Participation only

OPEN MALE (15 to 59 years old)

OPEN FEMALE (15 to 49 years old) ​

*This event does not include the PCD/PNE category, as this athlete has qualified in the official Paracycling event (UCI ParaCycling Games).
